As holiday is approaching, here is a set of holiday pairing featuring pastel floral hot pants. As with other colors, khaky does go pretty easy with pastel. Any item in this color and a drawstring trench jacket are handy for lightweight baggage as you can wear them many times.
'The Hunter' is taken from the name of a most well-known wine region in Australia. This region is the home of hundreds of wineries along with its resorts and cellar doors. Hunter Valley is a juxtaposition of nature and luxury. My husband and I enjoyed an early Christmas short-break (well, plus our 2nd wedding anniversary) there a few days ago. We only spent a night as Hunter Valley was pretty close to Sydney. It only took approximately 1.5-2 hours driving.
Our first stop was the Maitland market. Weekend markets are always in our must visit list every time we have a chance to have a trip on weekend because each of them are unique and we love everything locally homemade and handcrafted. Maitland market is set out at Maitland Showground and have stalls mostly outdoor with sellers display their products on or nearby their own cars and utes. Besides locally grown produce we also found second hand goods, handmade crafts, homemade gourmet, plants and the most interesting of all, adorable livestocks and birds. As you can see in the photo, they also sold live peking ducks! I wish I could bring one home, too lovely!
After overlooking green pastures, grassing cattle and blue sky, which always brings some sorts of relaxing effects to me, finally we came to Hunter Valley where vineyards were everywhere.
The soil in Hunter Valley was actually really dry that cactus may live. But the more important thing for the grapevines is the soil's mineral contain. A wine expert told us that it takes 10 years in average for a vine to produce good quality grapes ideal for making wine. Undergoing very long and thoughtful process of maturing the plants as well as making the wine itself until become a bottle of wine with beautiful aroma, it does deserves appreciation.
We also saw the Christmas Light Spectacular at the Hunter Valley Gardens. It was not as spectacular as Sydney NYE firework, but it is worth visiting when you are in Hunter Valley during November to January. Combination of beautiful dimming lights and the sounds of Christmas jingle and happy kids created a pretty nice and warm atmosphere.
Happy holiday everyone!
