WHAT TO WEAR WITH A COLORED BLAZER?
Finally this topic is coming up! Hope you are as excited as us.
As our observation, blazer has become a staple since few years ago and the fashion directors and icons keep its position on the trend very well. Both boyfriend blazer and body -fit cropped blazer have successfully penetrated the market, in the other words they are everywhere on almost any occasion. Even though in humid tropical weather, blazer is a favourite item.
Last week, the first time we told one of our best friends that we are developing our own fashion site, she came up with her light blue blazer. She asked for a number of ideas what to wear with it, including the type of blouses and the neck cuttings that can be nice mix. She is in the mid 20s and a part-time lecturer. Her style is feminine chic and she does not like too much details. She likes to looks good but prefers not to be the party princess. She is a bit shy outside but pretty loud inside - diligent, intelligent and high achiever all in one. But sometimes she is pretty funny and clumsy too, only to people close to her.
So here we are trying to give her some tips about what to wear with that her light blue blazer, that is more or less looks like this light blue jeans blazer although the real material is not jeans but cotton. The sets created below are mostly for her daily wear with a few additions for semi formal occasions. A colour pallet is also provided for her as guidance to play around with her existing and future closet.
*More sets and tips about other coloured blazer and basic coloured blazer will be up later. But basically the theory used here is applicable to other colours very well too.

The first pairing uses black and white as the base colors and light blue and mustard as the complimentary colors. A black and white T-shirt with either black skinny pants or black tailored pants are used as the base. Then the complimentary colors are applied in the blazer, the bag, the shoes and the shawl. In our opinion, it is great to wear at least 2 items (but also not too many) in same complimentary colors.

The second pairing uses all white top and bottom (a white mini dress is also applicable), a royal blue clutch and same color pumps. A one-layer gold chain necklace then become a simple feature to the overall outfit while a belt is not a must. The white shorts are replaceable with plain camel color pants and light blue pants with white abstract floral prints (or other colours, only make sure that it has the same light blue with the blazer in the pattern).

The third pairing is combining waisted dresses with flat shoes. Waisted dresses will give a slimmer effect. as she always wants, besides highlighting the neat feminine side of Paula. Patterned dress is more suitable for less formal occasion such as hanging out with friends. Soft pink floral patterned dress is chosen to emphasize her girlishness. Again, other color is Meanwhile, single color dresses, in this case white, is flattering for attending semi formal parties. To be wearable for lecturing, the dress is replaceable with collared dresses, such as shirt dresses. To finalize the look a beige chelsea ballet shoes or a white pointed flats are selected as the options as she is not a big fan of high heels and neutral colour shoes are more worth investing than a pair of light blue shoes.

The fourth pairing elaborates light grey as base colour with stripes and plain light blue blazer. As it can be seen on the left set, the blazer could style up a laid back jersey dress. Wear only the jersey dress for grocery shopping, then just put on your blazer for having lunch or dinner in a cosy cafe. For a more youthful look, you can wear a bunting necklace and high-top sneakers and do not forget to give a dash of bright color on your accessories and bag, such as lemon ,
